Este jueves a la madrugada falleció Hugo “Dinamita” Santillán, el púgil santafesino de 23 años que se había desvanecido mientras escuchaba el fallo de su pelea ante el uruguayo Eduardo Abreu y que estaba internado en grave estado en el hospital San Felipe por un severo traumatismo de cráneo.
La velada boxística del pasado 20 de julio en el club San Nicolás fue la última de «Dinamita» Santillán. Después de diez rounds, en los que terminó con el rostro llena de sangre, estaba en juego el título latino ligero del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, el cual quedó en manos del Uruguayo Abreu por el empate.
Santillán fue campeón sudamericano y latino en la categoría superpluma de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB). Era el número 2 del ranking nacional en su categoría, con un récord de 19 victorias (8 por nocaut), seis derrotas y dos empate.
El boxeador, de 23 años, quedó internado en terapia intensiva y fue operado por un coágulo cerebral. Tuvo dos paros cardiorespiratorios y su delicado estado de salud colapsó esta madrugada.
La médica Graciela Olocco, Directora del Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos San Felipe, reveló que Hugo Santillán, el boxeador santafesino de 23 años que estaba internado en estado crítico desde el sábado por la noche,murió el jueves a las 00.15 como consecuencia de «un fallo de miocardio«.
«La causa final de la muerte es un fallo de miocardio, es decir un paro cardíaco. El paciente ingresó en estado de coma y nunca recuperó la conciencia. Estuvo con asistencia ventilatoria y con medicación inotrópica»,
«En su momento se le realizó una craneotomía para hacer una descompresión por el edema cerebral que tenía».
«Después comenzó con los problemas renales, la fase poliúrica. Todo derivó en un fallo de bomba«, dijo Olocco en declaraciones con el programa radial Primera Mañana de LT9.
